This piece has an unusually bright red color, from which it derives its name. The pot also has a round 'botamochi' mark of a deep blue-red color, with earth tones surounding it where the natural wood ash fused to a glaze. The rim of the pot is curved in a special design and the flattened round form pleases with its' smoothness and weight.
